Land Transport Master Plan 2050

The Land Transport Master Plan 2050 (LTMP 2050) is planned to be the fourth LTMP after the LTMP 2008, LTMP 2013 and LTMP 2040.

The LTMPs comprise the following projects:

LTMP 2008, launched on 18th February 2008 by Mr Raymond Lim, Minister of Transport

1. Thomson Line, connecting Marina Bay to Woodlands
2. Eastern Region Line, connecting Marina Bay to the East  Coast
3. Downtown Line, connecting Bukit Timah, Bedok and Tampines to the downtown area.
4. Tuas West Extension, connecting Joo Koon to Tuas West and Tuas South, in 2 branches.
5. North South Line Extension (to Marina South Pier)

LTMP 2013, launched on 17th January 2013:

1. Cross Island Line, connecting Changi to Jurong
2. Jurong Region Line comprising of four legs heading to Jurong Industrial Estate, NTU, Jurong East and Choa Chu Kang.
3. North East Line Extension to  Punggol Coast
4. Infill station between Sembawang and Yishun (Canberra)
5. Downtown Line 3 Extension
6. Circle Line Stage 6

The LTMP 2013 was amended to include the JRL West Coast Extension, and originally was planned to terminate at Haw Par Villa. On 5th March 2025, the extension is amended to end at Kent Ridge.

LTMP 2040, launched on 25th May 2019

1. 9th MRT line, connecting Woodlands to the Greater Southern Waterfront
2. Brickland MRT Station
3. Downtown Line 2 Extension
4. Sungei Kadut MRT Station (interchange with Downtown Line  2 Extension)
5. Thomson-East Coast Line Extension 

The LTMP 2040 was amended to include the Tengah Line, pending merger with the 9th MRT line. The LTMP 2040 excludes the Founders' Memorial and Hume MRT stations.

 In the Land Transport Master Plan 2050, LTMP 2050, we can expect announcement of the following lines by the Land Transport Authority and the Ministry of Transport:

1. Jurong Region Line Extension to Joo Koon and Benoi MRT station from Peng Kang Hill
2. Cross Island Line Punggol Extension will be extended to the North South Line at Yishun.
3. 10th MRT line, tentatively called the Northern Region Line (NRL), connecting Bedok and Marine Terrace via Mandai, Kovan, Ang Mo Kio, Kranji, Choa Chu Kang, Tengah and Jurong.
4. Bukit Brown MRT station, between Caldecott and Botanic Gardens MRT stations

Jurong Region Line Extension

The Jurong Region Line will be extended from Peng Kang Hill station to connect with the Cross Island Line at the future Benoi station. 

Peng Kang Hill > Joo Koon (EWL) > Gul Avenue >Benoi (CRL)

Cross Island Line Punggol Branch Extension to Yishun

The Cross Island Line will connect to the North South Line at Yishun station, extending from the Punggol MRT station.

Punggol (PGLRT/NEL) > Sumang (PGLRT)> Seletar Airport > Yishun (NSL)
